The Adventure of PCS’ing Across the Pond

I’m here to talk all about life as a military spouse, adjusting to life in England (with all the tea and crumpets you can handle), and of course, the ups and downs of navigating a new country and all the unknowns that will come with it— So, buckle up, because whether you’re in the process of PCSing, just here for the laughs, or to see what life is like as a “mum”, I hope you’ll find something useful, relatable and a bit authentic and real in these posts.

Why I’m Here: Your Go-To Place for Life, Travel, and PCS Tips

If you’ve ever been a military spouse, you know the drill—moving. A lot. For those of you who might be thinking about taking the plunge or are already on the other side of the pond, I’m here to make your life a little easier (maybe? definitely a lot more fun and relatable). I’ll share tips and tricks on everything from packing that’ll save your sanity, to how we survive the dreaded ‘Welcome to England!’ culture shock. I’m also here to talk about life in general. How does it feel to go from a ‘working American mom’ life to becoming a “British” stay-at-home “mum”?

Beyond the laughs, though, I’ll also be tackling the serious stuff—like how to juggle the emotional rollercoaster of a PCS move, how to deal with the “new normal” of living overseas, and how to find your village when you’re far from home.

Travel, Life & All Things British

Are you wondering what’s in this for you? Now, I know not everyone who’s reading this is navigating the wild world of military life (and trust me, that’s perfectly fine). But whether you’re daydreaming of visiting England, someone who’s been bitten by the international travel bug, or just curious about how life in a different country might unfold, I’ve got you covered. I’ll be taking you on my personal journey to explore the culture, quirks, and joys of life in the UK. From day trips through charming villages to the busy streets of London, we’ll dive into the best places to visit and things to do (especially when you have a little one) and just the reality of well.. not being in the US anymore.

So, whether you’re a fellow traveler, a fan of British culture, or just want to know what it’s really like to experience life in another country as a mama, I’ll be here to share it all. Grab your passport (metaphorically, at least), and let’s explore the funny, fascinating, and hard reality of moving to another country.

Cheers!

Stay tuned for more of the good stuff: from a day in the life, travel tips, British culture shocks, to the everyday chaos of mom life navigating a new country. The fun doesn’t stop here—so grab your cuppa tea (or coffee like me), and let’s keep exploring!

See ya in a bit,

Britt
